PAINTING WATERCOLOURS IN ANDALUCIA
Barry Herniman
Painting ‘en plein air’ has always been one of
Barry’s favourite approaches to painting and never more so than
in the wonderful light of Andalucia. Using loose and lively washes
he captures the fleeting sunlight and shadows that are such a
part of this vibrantly colourful country. Starting with a demo
of terracotta pots he takes us through his painting techniques
before moving up into the mountains to paint a traditional white
village and then down to the sea for a coastal scene. He lives
near Ross on Wye and travels far afield both at home and abroad
tutoring workshops and holidays.
